In June, Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law hosted the first-annual golf and gamble tournament to benefit two law enforcement charities, the Dutchess County 10-13 (DC 10-13) Foundation of the Hudson Valley and the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute summer camp. The charity tournament took place at the renowned Monster Golf Course located at Resorts World Catskills in Monticello, and the day consisted of golf, food, gambling and great times. With the help of the financial sponsors and everyone in attendance, the tournament was able to successfully raise $50,000 in total on behalf of the two organizations.
Supporting law enforcement foundations in the local community
The DC 10-13 Foundation of the Hudson Valley and the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute summer camp are two organizations that are both close to the hearts of the attorneys at Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law and the local community. The DC 10-13 Foundation of the Hudson Valley was named after the 10-13 law enforcement code, which means officer down, needs assistance. The foundation is a source of pride for the community and benefits law enforcement workers in Dutchess County and their families when an illness or injury causes undue financial hardship.
The New York State Sheriffs’ Institute summer camp is another organization Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law and residents in the area care deeply about. The summer camp supports children between the ages of 9 and 12 who may not have been able to attend because of financial challenges. Additionally, this camp is designed to unite the community and law enforcement officials, as local officers are secretly hired as camp chaperones. They do not disclose that they are cops until the last day of camp to show attendees they can trust law enforcement officials and that all officers are regular people.
The charity tournament was a success as all attendees enjoyed an amazing day of golf and poker while raising funds for two significant organizations that support law enforcement in the community. The attorneys at Rutberg Breslow Personal Injury Law are honored to have hosted such an event and look forward to supporting these organizations in the future.
